I am not short, my height is just cute! Don’t we all girls swear by this quote? I am 5’3 and have no qualms about it. So today’s post is dedicated to all those girls who get annoyed when it comes to clothes and how to style according to your petite and cute height.
GO MONOCHROME! Wearing a single colour from head to toe creates an elongated illusion. That is exactly what I did with my outfit. I chose all white garments for this look. I paired two white kurtis and white pant. Personally, I love color blocking but too many colours can break down your silhouette, so make sure you play correctly with the colours as per your body type. Baggy shirts or kurtis can engulf your silhouette. So belt it or tie a knot. My body silhouette is more of a pear shape, that’s the reason I chose a thin belt to give a defined waist line.
“Shoes wisely”! Say hi to heels! A pair of heeled shoes will definitely give you an extra height. Invest in a good pair of pointed toe heels. They slim down your legs making the body frame looking tall. If you prefer flats over heels then go for pointed ballet flats. Coming to bags! Try avoiding over-sized hand bags because this will overwhelm your petite frame. Personally, I like big handbags. I know all girls like to carry the whole world in our bags and I am definitely one of them. I have a big bag fetish! Whenever I go shopping, I end up buying a bag *not guilty* 😀 .
Even your hairstyle can add to your height. So you can try out a pouf with a ponytail, which will make your neck look much longer.
Lastly, don’t be afraid to wear maxis. Avoid pleated maxis and choose small print. Play around with different necklines, sweetheart shape and/or V-necks will be perfect and will draw attention to your upper body. And as I said, go monochrome! A dress which comes closest to your skin tone makes you look even taller and stick to slender dresses.
