Ethnically Diverse- Navratri Outfit #4

The last post in the Navratri outfit series.

Bathukamma is a ritual practised by the people of Telangana which is dedicated to goddess Parvati. The bathukamma is a stacked arrangement of flowers in concentric circles. Instead of flowers, my mother and I decided to prepare bathukamma using coloured papers and be little craftsy. Well, the end product wasn’t what we were expecting, but it wasn’t bad either.

Lehenga is always appropriate for any functions or rituals. When it comes to Indian outfits, I have always loved designing them on my own. I totally enjoy the process of buying fabrics, laces and jotting down ideas with my mother and on how I can enhance the outfit.

So, I took my minimal looking lehenga which I purchased for a family function ages ago when neon colour was a trend. I have never worn this lehenga ever again and decided to revamp it by adding an Ikat fabric to the hem of it and team it up with an Ikat blouse of the same shade. I completed the look with a contrast dupatta and bangles. And the pearl earrings and necklace added the required touch to my whole ensemble.
