A couple of days ago, I had a staycation with my blogger girl gang at Le Dupleix and The Promenade , properties of Hidesign. Though our flight got delayed by more than 3 hours, it did not dampen our joy to get there.
LE DUPLEIX-
You will fall in love with Le Dupleix the moment you enter through the massive wooden gate, and you are bound to admire the old-wood charm of the property. The splendid experience started with a welcome drink, and a quick brief of the property and the specially designed vegetarian menu by the chef.
Le Dupleix is a charming and quaint Heritage Hotel by Hidesign. It is an 18th-century residence that housed the last Mayor of Pondicherry.
The hotel strikes a balance between modernity and colonial heritage. Le Dupleix offers 14 uniquely furnished and designed rooms for individual experience.
After the late lunch at Le Dupleix, we also had the opportunity to check out the sister property- The Promenade, which is also owned by Hidesign. The poolside sundowner was arranged for us with the sea-facing view. Warm dusk light, the sound of the ocean and breeze, and sangrias set the tone for the evening. All the girls chilled by the pool, clicking pictures, and just relaxing.
Hidesign Industrial Tour-
The next day, we checked into The Promenade. After freshening up, we were taken to the Hidesign manufacturing unit to get a first-hand experience on what goes behind the making of their classy, sophisticated bags. The property is situated amidst flora and fauna with red brick walls, which is nothing like the regular factories which we see these days. 90% of Hidesign employees are women workers from in and around the local area, empowering women and making them independent is also the prime motto of Hidesign. There is no wastage of materials in the manufacturing, even their logo, brass buckles, and chains are recycled from the waste brass that is exclusively cast and polished painstakingly by hand.
Post the industrial visit, a music night at The Storytellers Bar(in the hotel itself), made an epic night! Grooving to the music, gorging on appetizers is how we ended a long day.
The Promenade-
What did we eat?
On the first day, we had a late lunch at Le Dupleix, wherein the chef-curated a special menu for us.
After the sundowner, we headed for dinner at the Bay of Buddha, a rooftop restaurant in the Promenade.
Day 2, we had a South Indian breakfast at Governor’s Lounger Bar, Le Dupleix. However, the hotel offers excellent dining options, nothing can compare to your comfort food, and I was pleasantly surprised as it tasted finger-licking good!
Post the industrial visit to Hidesign, we again had a late lunch at Blue Line restaurant in the Promenade. It is an all dining, multi-cuisine restaurant and no points for guessing what I ordered :D. I relished on paneer and roti because I can never get enough of it!
Both properties are located within walking distance from the beach! This shall convince you to book your next stay with Hidesign hotels.
Thank you for the ineradicable experience!
