Hope you all are doing well.

I am back with a new post about my college  The Hlabel Exhibition and sale 2016! There are around 25 groups of brilliantly talented people with some amazing, out of the box themes.  So, today’s post is about the themes, sample fabric market survey and of course the meet with Neeta Lulla ma’am.

Me and my team (group of 5 girls, fab 5 ;)) came up with few themes like, the aboriginal art, the dream catchers, Italian doors etc. But we landed upon on the theme Minerals. Why we selected this theme you ask? It’s because of its distinctive colours and the colours portray the life of women which are equally magical and vibrant (deep philosophy eh).  There are other groups who came up with themes like the Chowmahalla Palace, Ndebele tribe, Peranakan crockery and etc.

Next we went for fabric swatches survey to Charminar. This place is like a candy shop for people like me who have never been to charminar shopping; you get so many varieties of fabrics, accessories but at a decent price.  Although staying in Hyderabad for so long I have never gone to charminar. Now all thanks to my college, I am very well acquainted with every nook and corner of the area.  You won’t believe we even went to a furnishing shop in search of new fabrics and were surprised to find few.

And one fine day Neeta ma’am arrived for a session to check the progress the teams have made. There was lot of excitement in the air. Little did I know how important that day was going to be.  And the moment she entered the room the chattering ceased. Neeta Lulla is a brand as well as a visionary. A perfect amalgamation of poise along with determined teaching is all that one needs. It is also intimidating at the same time to meet her visionary standards while submitting our drafts.  She made us realize that fashion designing is very hands on and a serious thing. One needs to have commitment towards it.
