    Living Coral #Pantone2019

The Pantone Color pretty much sets the color trend and composition for the fashion industry. Pantone has described the living coral as an “animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” I have previously worked on 2017,2018 color of the year. You can check it out here and here. I really liked this year’s color. It perfectly sits between orange and pink which brightens up every ensemble. Makar Sankranti festival is around the corner, and the excitement of flying kites has died down in my family, but the festival delicacies continue in the kitchen and the chance to dress up. I…

    Effortlessly Chic #ChristmasOutfitIdea

Where’s the party tonight? Sometimes one wants to dress up nice and look sophisticated, right?  Nothing screams more than well-fitted trousers and a structured dress.  So, I picked up the below ensemble on Shein website which is not my style at all. To be honest, before buying on Shein website check the reviews and the size chart. Whatever I have purchased until now had to be altered here and there. But, I can never stop buying from the website because of their insanely cute collections! Usually, the trousers are paired with tailored blazer to give a structured look. Here, I chose to pair it with a wrap dress to achieve…

    Sartorial Scallops #ChristmasOutfitIdea

I Can’t believe that December has zoomed in already and we are half way through a new year. But, this brings us the most loved season of all! So,What to wear on Christmas? I know for a fact that there are girls who like to get dressy and have a few outings on Christmas day whether it is lunch with family or a party with friends. And, we are quite partial when it comes to sequins dressing. I did two blog posts on the same in the past. Have a look here and here So, this year I decided to ditch the sequins and chose a new way to incorporate some…

I Recreated Looks Of Lara Jean Covey -To All The Boys I Have Loved Before.

Noah Centineo is not only the reason why we girls are swooning over the movie. The lead actress dressing style is edgy, yet it has a girl next door vibe which resonates with a lot of girls, don’t you think?  Be it her combat boots, her favourite scrunchie or overalls, or the famous red pea coat I am totally fangirling over her outfits. The costume designer of the movie Rafaella Rabinovich said, she took inspiration from 90’s Vogue magazine and K-Pop. The designer blended feminine vintage pieces with an edgy touch well. So, I decided to recreate two outfits from the movie. Outfit 1- The party outfit. This outfit marks…

    Ethnically Diverse- Navratri Outfit #4

The last post in the Navratri outfit series. Bathukamma is a ritual practised by the people of Telangana which is dedicated to goddess Parvati. The bathukamma is a stacked arrangement of flowers in concentric circles. Instead of flowers, my mother and I decided to prepare bathukamma using coloured papers and be little craftsy. Well, the end product wasn’t what we were expecting, but it wasn’t bad either. Lehenga is always appropriate for any functions or rituals. When it comes to Indian outfits, I have always loved designing them on my own.  I totally enjoy the process of buying fabrics, laces and jotting down ideas with my mother and on how…

    Ethnically Diverse- Navratri Outfit #3

Gujarati and Rajasthani outfits are widely decorated and vibrant with different forms of tie and dye, applique work.  Amidst all the historical heritage of the state, an applique work called the gota Patti is noteworthy. To be precise, the city Jaipur is now the hub where most of the gota Patti work is done. Just because it is dandiya night, you don’t have to wear a lehenga all the time and be predictable. Go a step further and raid your wardrobe and come up with a personal style which will help you to stand out in the crowd. I am all about comfortable clothing at any time of the day. Hence…

    Ethnically Diverse- Navratri Outfit #2

The pomp and splendour of Navratri are around the corner and here is my take on a Gujarati outfit. We all know that clothing preferences are different in each state. And the first thing that comes to our mind when we think of Gujarat dressing style is the colourful, vibrant, beautiful thread work, patchwork and beadwork. The traditional dress for men consists of Kediyu and dhoti, and for women, it is chaniya choli. I am a legit girlie girl, but of late I have been wearing t-shirts from the men’s department, and I love the way it looks on me. I pick up an extra size up or two and make…

    Ethnically Diverse- Navratri Outfit #1

The festive season is upon us and if you’re someone like me who loves to go out and play garba-dandiya but struggling with what to wear? Read to know more. In India, each state celebrates Navratri in its way. I will be doing a series of four posts depicting Gujarat, Rajasthan, Telangana and Kolkata. Since most of you know, I have been to Kolkata recently and inspired by its love for Durga Pooja which is celebrated in all its glory. I decided to incorporate the colours and nitty-gritty of Bengali women dressing into my wardrobe and come up with a new outfit for dandiya nights. We all know that Bengali women…

    #SoMyWeddingStyles- Skip The Lehenga!

We all know that every trend goes through a fashion cycle- introduction, rise, peak, decline and rejection. Some patterns survive the period and go on to become a classic like a white shirt, saris etc. and some become a fad- neon colours, cargo pants etc. In the present day scenario, the sharara pants have made a massive comeback into the fashion scene and are incorporated with contemporary versions. Sharara pants come in a variety of fabrics, and I ordered mine online in see-through georgette fabric, I thought it was a modern version of traditional clothing, don’t you think so? I wanted a monochrome look; hence I paired it with orange…

    #SoMyWeddingStyles- I Dressed Retro

For a south Indian wedding, one would often prefer a silk saree, but I chose to drape a lace saree for my friend’s daytime wedding. Just like silk sarees, lace sarees are a classic! Lace fabric has been etched in the history since the Renaissance time when Queen Victoria chose to wear it for her wedding day, and since then it has become a lasting tradition for a Christain bride to wear a lace gown. So, taking the Queen as my inspiration, I picked up the lace fabric but in our traditional red colour for a Hindu Wedding. Well, lace fabric can be tricky at times, one for being sheer. So,…
